Home visits

Home visits are a key part of our work with young children and their families. This is usually how we first become involved and meet the child and their family.

Once we have learnt more about a child’s development and use of vision through conversations with the parents or carers, observation and reports by other professionals, an individual programme is devised. This gives ideas for activities to promote the various areas of the child’s development and includes visual stimulation where relevant.

During home visits, these activities are demonstrated and explained, enabling the parents/carers to carry them out on a regular basis.
