School advice

For many of our children and young people, advice to schools is all that is needed to ensure that they are able to access the curriculum and overcome difficulties arising from their visual impairment.

To do so effectively, we observe class lessons and then provide appropriate feedback and guidance to teachers and other staff on matters such as appropriate seating positions and enlargements. With the right support, teachers and support staff are then able to provide for all the adaptations themselves.

Some children will need a higher level of input and in these cases we will advise regarding modified enlarged materials, individual IT needs and specialist equipment.
