Matilda (2)Theatre Trips have provided the opportunity for our young people who may be the only child in their school with a visual impairment to meet other children in a similar situation and talk about their experiences.

All who come along also enjoy the chance to meet some of the cast and have a touch tour on stage before catching up with each other during lunch. During the performance, our children and young people are able to sit close to the front and make use of audio description.

Babe the Sheep Pig

Our most recent trip was to the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon, where students enjoyed a live action, musical presentation of the popular film, Babe the Sheep Pig. The performance was also followed by an interactive workshop, which was enjoyed by all.

Here is some of the feedback following a past  trip to see Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre:

“I enjoyed the trip because it had loads of people to socialise with and the play was AMAZING!”

“It was a great show with great people. I enjoyed getting to know the other students outside the school environment.”

“I enjoyed the trip because it was fun to meet other people. It was brilliant!”

“I really enjoyed the trip because I got to meet lots of different people and make new friends. It was really fun!”

Excuse Me Mrs Pardon

Following the interactive theatre performance of "Excuse Me Mrs Pardon" by the Theatre Tots Company, parents and carers wrote:

“My children enjoyed the performance so much! They were clapping and dancing. Absolutely enthralled, I have not seen them sit engrossed for so long. It was fantastic. Thank you so much!”

“My child enjoyed the sensory and musical side of the performance. It was a positive event for a family who has a child with VI and complex needs. We are very grateful for you holding the event!”

“It kept the children really entertained.”
