Safeguarding

The safety and welfare of our children and young people is of the utmost importance to us at all times and we endeavour to promote the social, physical and emotional wellbeing of each pupil we support.

We recognise that the children we work with are often additionally vulnerable and make sure that we provide a physically safe environment for our students.

All staff have undergone Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks that are renewed every three years and attend regular Child Protection and Safeguarding training.

If we are concerned that a child or young person may be at risk, we are required to pass on our concerns to the schools’ designated Child Protection Officers and/or Social Services where appropriate. However we do not discharge our responsibility at this point, we will remain pro-active in ensuring the safeguarding of any child until we are assured that the concerns are being appropriately responded to.
